Dates of Operation: Tuesday, October 10, 2023 – Friday, May 31, 2024

Discovery Club has before & after school programs at Bradford, Golden Hill, Pentucket Lake, Silver Hill, and Tilton Elementary Schools, and Consentino, J. G. Whittier and Nettle Middle Schools.

All of these sites offer one hour of before school care, in-person, Monday through Friday when students are in school. After school, programs for these grades meet for two hours, in-person, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are optional at elementary sites only and transportation is not provided on Fridays. Bradford, Golden Hill, Pentucket Lake, Silver Hill, and Tilton Discovery Club operate until 5:15 and Consentino, J. G. Whittier and Nettle programs operate until 4:45 p.m. Transportation to home is provided Monday through Thursday after Discovery Club. A healthy snack is provided.

Elementary and middle school programs offer time for homework and academic support followed by an enrichment program. The time scheduled for homework will be revised this year to allow for more enrichment time. Hands-on enrichment programs offer other opportunities for student learning that are not often available during the school day. We would like to allow more time for students to work collaboratively in enrichment topics of their choosing. There are three ten-week sessions during the school year for all programs. Usually, enrichment programs change or students can choose a new enrichment topic each session to ensure that students have a variety of experiences. At the elementary and middle school levels, enrichment may include Art, Recreation, STEM Career Awareness, Musical Theater, Horticulture, or a Project-Based or Service Learning program, such as ‘The Heart and Sole of Haverhill,’ a curriculum that was created this year by a Discovery Club Curriculum Team. The enrichment topics may change based on student interest.

The Access 21 (grades 9-12) Out-of-School Time (OST) program will have after school programming only at Haverhill High School. Enrichment programs offered include integrated Culinary Skills, Internship, Glee Club, Robotics, and Life Skills. Internship Scheduling is determined by the Internship Coordinator. We may offer some new enrichment opportunities in addition to the current programs, based on student and teacher interest from a recent survey. Healthy snacks and transportation home are available. The programs begin at 2:15 pm and end at 5:00 pm.

After School:       Monday through Friday        3:15 P.M. to 5:15 P.M.

There is no transportation before school or on Fridays after school.

Middle Schools: Consentino, J. G. Whittier, Nettle

Before School:     Monday through Friday       7:15 A.M. to 8:15 A.M.   

After School:        Monday through Thursday 2:45 P.M. to 4:45 P.M.
